You will guide Lean Six Sigma projects, coordinate cross-functional teams, and drive data-driven initiatives to deliver measurable results. The role requires advanced degrees in life sciences or bio/chemical engineering with relevant industry experience and Six Sigma Green Belt certification.

Manager, Business Operational Excellence, AbbVie Bioresearch Center Inc., Worcester, MA (5 days a week on site).

Key Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives to reduce operating costs, enhance efficiency, and minimize errors across the organization.
• Drive execution of improvement projects by leveraging Lean Six Sigma tools and guiding cross‑functional teams through all project stages.
• Responsible for data‑driven analysis, stakeholder engagement, and effective coordination to ensure timely achievement of measurable results.
• Provide training and mentorship in Business Excellence practices to support organizational objectives.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Must have a Master’s in bio(chemical) engineering, life sciences, regulatory affairs related to drugs, biologics, medical devices or other life sciences‑related discipline and 3 years of experience driving operational improvements within the pharmaceutical and/or medical device industry.

Alternatively, a Bachelor’s in the same disciplines and 5 years of experience driving operational improvements in the same industry.

Within either combination, must have completed at least a Six Sigma Green Belt Certification. The organization will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.

1. Driving operational excellence in pharmaceutical and/or medical device manufacturing processes in a QA, QC, project management, or engineering role.
2. Working cross‑functionally with manufacturing stakeholders to drive manufacturing/operational improvements and resolving complex scientific, technical, analytical, and/or business issues.

Additional Information

Salary Range: $175,282 - $208,500 per year.
