Confidential Company, a multi-office CPA and advisory firm in Southwestern Illinois, seeks an experienced Manager - Tax & Audit to lead client engagements, mentor staff, and act as a trusted advisor to business owners.

Based anywhere in our Illinois offices, this role focuses on delivering high-quality tax and audit services, fostering strong client relationships, and guiding teams toward the firm’s long-term leadership goals.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license required.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting.
• 7+ years of public accounting experience.
• Experience managing multiple client engagements concurrently.
• Strong tax, audit, accounting, and client service skills.
• Proven leadership and staff development experience.
• Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage audit, review, tax, and consulting engagements from planning through completion.
• Serve as trusted advisor and primary client contact.
• Review workpapers, financial statements, tax returns, and client deliverables.
• Monitor engagement budgets, staffing, realization, and profitability.
• Lead multiple engagements with high quality and service.
• Mentor, coach, and develop staff accountants and seniors.
• Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and staff development initiatives.
• Assist with business development, networking, and community involvement.
• Collaborate with Principals on client service, firm growth, and strategy.

Qualifications
