Advocate Health is seeking a Manager, Athletic Training to support Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, NC. The role leads athletic training programs, directs care plans, and collaborates with physicians and other professionals to optimize athlete outcomes.
Responsibilities include evaluating injuries, designing rehabilitation, documenting progress, and mentoring students and staff. A Bachelor's degree is required; advanced credentials and licensure are expected.
Evaluates, plans, directs, and administers programs of athletictraining to restore function, prevent disability, and help athletesreach their maximum level of independence. Provides leadership andparticipates in continuing education. Works closely with otherdisciplines and specialties within the department and facility aswell as with athletes and families to assure a cohesive approach toathlete care.
Hearing (corrected) adequate for oral/aural communication withathletes, staff, family, visitors, etc. Vision (corrected) adequatefor reading. Intelligible speech and normal language/cognitiveskills. Must be able to push athletes in a wheelchair orstretchers. Lifting of athletes, equipment or supplies will berequired up to 20 pounds frequently, up to 50 pounds occasionally,and up to 100 pounds rarely. Sitting, standing, and walkingrequired throughout the day. Job duties sometimes require climbingstairs, kneeling, twisting, bending; on occasion, crouching,crawling and reaching overhead. Must be able to transfer athletes.Must be able to demonstrate any appropriate exercise and activitiesto athletes/caregivers. Work is in a fast-paced clinicalenvironment. The work environment is primarily indoors butoccasionally outdoors.
Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.Certification through the National Athletic Trainers' Associationrequired. Licensure by the North Carolina Board of Athletic TrainerExaminers required. 5 years experience in a management orleadership role preferred.
