Wipfli LLP is seeking a Manager in accounting advisory with healthcare and post-acute expertise to serve as an outsourced controller, delivering strategic financial insights and guiding budgeting, forecasting, and operational improvements while mentoring client teams. You will lead high-quality financial reporting and build trusted client relationships grounded in the Wipfli Way.

This remote role supports skilled nursing clients nationwide and offers opportunities to lead US and offshore

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of accounting/advisory experience in skilled nursing facilities or post-acute healthcare.
• Public accounting experience preferred.
• CPA/CMA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review financial reporting packages for quality and timely delivery.
• Prepare benchmarking data and KPIs to support client insights.
• Present reporting packages and findings to clients as directed.
• Assist in budgets, forecasts, and cash flow models.
• Provide technical accounting support on complex issues.
• Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
• Lead US and offshore engagement teams to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Coach staff and senior accountants on accounting and reporting matters.

Wipfli’s accounting advisory practice is seeking a Manager with strong healthcare and post-acute care experience to serve as an outsourced controller and support our skilled nursing industry clients. In this role, you will provide controller-level advisory by delivering strategic financial insights, guiding clients through budgeting, forecasting, and operational improvements, and supporting long-term financial stability. You’ll lead and mentor client teams, oversee high-quality financial reporting, and build trusted, solutions-focused relationships grounded in the Wipfli Way. This position can be worked remotely anywhere in the US.

Responsibilities

• Review financial reporting packages and work papers for quality, completeness, and timely delivery.
• Prepare and analyze benchmarking data and key performance indicators to support client insights.
• Present completed reporting packages and findings to clients as directed.
• Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and cash flow models in alignment with client engagement terms.
• Provide technical accounting support to clients and their teams on complex issues.
• Identify operational inefficiencies through client discovery sessions and recommend actionable improvements.
• Lead and coordinate the efforts of US and offshore engagement team members, ensuring high-quality deliverables, efficient workflow management, and a consistent client experience.
• Lead and coach staff and senior accountants, providing guidance on accounting and financial reporting matters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• 4-6 years of experience providing accounting, advisory or financial reporting services to skilled nursing facilities, long-term care, senior living or post-acute healthcare organizations.
• Past or current experience in public accounting preferred.
• Working knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement structures for skill nursing facilities, including compliance related to documentation, billing accuracy and regulatory oversight.
• 3+ years managing associates and/or teams.
• Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) preferred.
• Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis.
• Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills.
• Strong project management and relationship-building skills, with a client-first mindset.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Preferred proficiency in industry accounting software, e.g., QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, PointClickCare, and a demonstrated ability to embrace new technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to influence others, promote constructive change, and develop team members.
• Ability to travel up to 10%
