Job summary

Precision Medicine Group, LLC. is seeking a senior accounting leader to oversee month-end close, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, and financial reporting for the Precision for Medicine division.

You will collaborate with FP&A, executives, and cross-functional partners to support budgets, forecasts, and control processes in a dynamic, high-growth environment. The role requires deep US GAAP knowledge, strong analytical skills, and experience mentoring a team.

Qualifications

• 10 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required.
• Strong MS Office literacy including Word and PowerPoint.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial regulations and accounting best practices.

Responsibilities

• Review JEs prepared by the Accounting team and prepare complex GL entries.
• Review AP spend and cash flow forecasts to ensure adequacy.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts across multiple units including inventory and revenue.
• Partner with FP&A on budgets, forecasts and allocations.
• Mentor staff and document processes, ensuring understanding of GAAP standards.
• Monitor US GAAP developments and implement changes as needed.
• Establish internal controls to minimize payment errors and fraud risk.
• Oversee revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606.
• Prepare audit schedules and support for external auditors.
• Assist with strategic initiatives and system implementations.
• Support government accounting requests as needed.

This role is responsible for overseeing key accounting activities, including month-end close processes, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, and financial reporting. The position partners closely with FP&A, executive leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders to support budgets, forecasts, allocations, government accounting requests, and strategic business initiatives. The role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, including US GAAP, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, and internal controls. This individual will manage and mentor team members. Success in the role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent organization, sound judgment, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Journal Entries - Review JE's prepared by the Accounting team. Prepare complex GL entries as required.
• Payment Processing/Cash applications - Review AP spend and cash flow forecasts to ensure reasonable and cash flow needs are appropriate.
• Account Reconciliations - Review balance sheet account reconciliations across multiple business units including inventory, unbilled/deferred revenue, payroll liabilities, capitalized labor, ROU asset/depreciation, fixed assets/depreciation, intercompany reconciliations, prepaids etc. May prepare complex account reconciliations as needed.
• Business Level Financial Reporting - Partner with FP&A on review and preparation of budgets, forecasts and allocation methods.
• Train and mentor staff, ensure process documentation for accounting thresholds/adjustments and new GAAP standards are shared with the business to ensure accurate accounting and understanding of financial reporting. Continue to identify areas for improvement. Integrate new business acquisitions and initiate new projects as needed.
• Monitor emerging US GAAP standards or practices which may impact operations and reporting. Assist with data gathering and implementation of GAAP standards to be adopted.
• Cost Management - Review Financial results for efficiencies - Establish internal controls to minimize risk of payment errors, duplicate payments or fraud and work with the accounting team to implement needed controls.
• Revenue - Review of customer contracts to ensure consistent application of revenue recognition policies in accordance with US GAAP (ASC 606) as needed.
• Audit - Prepare and review audit support prepared by team prior to providing to external auditors (audit/tax) to ensure appropriate to meet their requests. Review and finalize any required accounting memos on policies prior to providing to auditors. Prepare complex audit schedules as needed. Support local statutory audit needs as required. Point person to manage PBC requests and follow up on any audit issues identified.
• Strategic initiatives - Assist with strategic initiatives of the business as needed (system implementations, integrations, acquisitions etc.)
• And other job duties as assigned by the line manager.

Requirements

• 10 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum concentration accounting or finance.

• Ability to process and analyze large volumes of qualitative and quantitative information
• Detail-oriented professional with ability to handle complex reporting while meeting company deadlines, sometimes with short turnaround times, and competing priorities.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial regulations, and accounting best practices, including a knowledge of inventory accounting and US standards.
• Meaningful experience partnering with executive leadership
• Partner with FP&A on Government accounting requests, including Payroll Data reconciliations, and audit support.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills and an ability to build credibility with external and internal stakeholders

• Solid understanding of integrated business processes in an enterprise software environment (ERP).

This compensation range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Precision, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. This role is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, health insurance, retirement savings benefits, life insurance and disability benefits, parental leave, and paid time off for sick leave and vacation, among other benefits.
