Job summary

BorgWarner in Cadillac, MI is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead the finance team and ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis. You will supervise month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls, while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to drive business decisions.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, 6+ years in accounting/finance, and professional certifications (MBA, CMA, CPA).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Six plus years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and GAAP.
  • Preferred Experience in a manufacturing environment, including cost accounting.
  • MBA, CMA, CPA or similar professional certification.
  • Experience with OneStream financial software, SAP and other ERP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate finance department activities.
  • Establish team objectives, assign work, and monitor performance.
  • Develop and improve financial processes, policies, and internal controls.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support achievement of financial goals and compliance with BorgWarner policies.
  • Assist in the preparation of the plant Long Range Plan (LRP), including capital expenditures, sales forecasts, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Support the development and approval of Appropriation Requests (ARs), including RSM model preparation.
  • Serve as key user for OneStream and other designated financial reporting systems.
  • Coordinate month-end and year-end close activities, including analysis and reporting.
  • Ensure financial records and accounts are accurate and compliant with GAAP.
  • Lead the monthly capital spending forecast process and monitor project expenditures.
  • Oversee internal confirmation processes and inventory reconciliations.
  • Manage and value physical inventory activities and investigate discrepancies.
  • Serve as the primary contact for tax reporting items; Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and internal audits.
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, accounting records, and financial reporting systems.

Position Manager, Accounting – TTT Cadillac Location Cadillac, MI

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the daily activities of the finance team, providing direction, coaching, training, and performance support to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis. Oversees financial processes, maintains compliance with corporate policies and accounting standards, and supports business decision‑making through budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting. Drives process improvements, maintains strong internal controls, and supports operational and strategic financial objectives.
