Job description

Overview

Join the SMB Ecosystem organization as a Manager 2 in the CoreApp team. We are seeking a visionary Senior Engineering Manager to lead one of the most strategic teams in our Small Business Ecosystem Experiences organization. This role sits at the intersection of platform innovation, breakthrough adoption through enabling new offerings, and managing the fleet of apps across SBG. You will drive the technical and organizational strategy for composition of experiences and enabling variability in experiences, with a particular emphasis on speed to market through defined patterns and configurations while leveraging AI.

What you'll bring
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience with at least 3+ years working as an established technical leader (manager) of software engineering teams that have successfully delivered impactful business solutions
  • A seasoned engineering leader with experience at the intersection of platform integrations, partner ecosystems, and AI/automation.
  • A systems thinker who balances technical depth with business intuition. You know how to abstract complexity into scalable frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of embedding product experiences within external platforms, including mega platform ecosystems (e.g., cloud marketplaces, app stores, partner portals).
  • Passion for AI and agent-based innovation, and how it can unlock entirely new categories of embedded experiences.
  • Customer- and partner-obsession. You design with end-to-end journeys in mind, not just technical components.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Comfortable navigating executive conversations — both internally and externally — and influencing outcomes through clarity and credibility.
  • Track record of mentoring engineers and building high-velocity teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Leading integrations or extensibility programs within a platform company
  • Building and shipping AI or agent-powered experiences, particularly in third-party or partner environments.
  • Experience with monetization models (e.g., revenue share, usage-based billing, partner tiers) for platform integrations.
  • Background in SaaS platform integrations.
  • Public or partner-facing technical leadership — ability to represent engineering with credibility and vision.
How you will lead
  • Integration Architecture & Strategy: Define and evolve the core patterns for how our experiences are embedded into partner platforms. Set the direction for reusable, extensible, and monetizable integrations that accelerate partner enablement.
  • Technical roadmap and execution: Own the technical roadmap and execution for integration patterns, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and support monetization efforts.
  • AI Agent Ecosystem Enablement: Own how our product integrates into intelligent agent environments, establishing us as a first-class citizen in the growing agentic landscape. Drive the strategic incorporation of AI agents within these integrations to enhance automation, personalization, and value delivered to end-customers.
  • 1P/2P/3P Centric Innovation: Champion use cases, ensuring our integrations feel native, seamless, and essential to the platforms they inhabit. Foster a culture of customer obsession, ensuring seamless, high-quality experiences that drive adoption and retention.
  • Team Building & Leadership: Build and scale a high-caliber team of engineers. Create a culture of excellence, velocity, and ownership. Mentor and grow engineering talent, promoting best practices, engineering excellence, and agile delivery.
  • Operational Excellence: Lead operational excellence to deliver highly available, scalable solutions with utmost attention to quality, security, and performance metrics.
