Southeastern Freight Lines is looking for a Management Trainee to join its Operations Leadership program in the United States. The role starts with a 16-week intensive training track designed to equip you for an initial leadership/supervisory position in operations.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation or Logistics or two years of relevant work experience, with a valid driving history and excellent communication.

Job Overview

As a Management Trainee, you will participate in our Operations Management Trainee Program. This is an entry level training position and consists of an intensive 16-week training program designed to prepare you for your initial leadership/supervisory role in operations.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a mentor, your primary responsibility is to learn the basic principles of the transportation industry, efficient cross-dock operations, effective leadership communication, and relationship building skills.
• At the completion of the Trainee Program, relocation to another facility for your first leadership role in Operations will be required.
• Complete the leadership training program requiring guided, independent study.
• Interface with appropriate Support Center and Service Center associates in the completion of various aspects of the training program daily.
• Accompany and observe an Account Manager during customer sales calls.
• Accompany drivers on local delivery routes to garner an understanding of the freight delivery process on occasion.

Requirements

• For this position, candidates are required to hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation or Logistics, or alternatively, have at least two years of related work experience.
• An acceptable driving history that aligns with company standards is essential.
• The role demands flexibility with a readiness to relocate as needed.
• Successful candidates will possess strong verbal and written communication skills, including effective listening abilities, and must maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
• Basic computer skills are necessary, along with a very strong work ethic, to thrive in this dynamic environment.

Compensation & Shift

Average Annual Starting Pay: $50,000-$60,000 (pay may vary based on location, experience, and qualifications)
