Job summary

Darling Ingredients is seeking entry-level candidates for its management training program in Texas. Trainees will work with managers to learn planning, policy setting, and leadership across departments such as marketing, sales, and operations.

You will participate in trainings, complete projects, and undergo evaluations while preparing for a managerial role. The program emphasizes asset protection and profitability through policy execution and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in agriculture, engineering, industrial management or related field required, with 1+ years of related experience.
  • Or HS diploma/GED with 4-5 years plant/production management experience; military experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work with other managers to plan and direct the work of the organization; help set policies.
  • Attend lectures, watch guest speakers, and create projects, oral presentations, and take tests.
  • Work in different departments to gain perspective (marketing, sales, customer services, purchasing, merchandising, personnel).
  • Participate with store management in interviewing, hiring, and training employees; use reports to analyze sales, gross profit and inventory activity.
  • Identify trends and recommend proactive or remedial actions to manage business situations.
  • Report market activity to management by monitoring and analyzing competitive price lists and products.
  • Work with management to develop and implement actions that protect company assets and profitability.

Responsible for working alongside managers and accepting delegated responsibilities and duties with the goal of eventually becoming a manager.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Work with other managers to plan and direct the work of the organization . Help set policies.
  • Receive classroom instruction in subjects related to their rotational experience.
  • Attend lectures, watch guest speakers, and create projects, oral presentations, and take tests.
  • Work in different departments to gain perspective, including marketing, sales, customer services, purchasing, merchandising, and personnel departments.
  • Handle established accounts to gain familiarity.
  • Adhere to guidelines of formal written training program .
  • Attend periodic evaluations.
  • Achieve a passing score in all areas of the management training program in order to continue in the program.
  • Participate with store management in interviewing, hiring, and training employees. Use company reports to analyze sales, gross profit and inventory activity.
  • Identify trends and recommends proactive or remedial action to manage business situations.
  • Report market activity to management by monitoring and analyzing competitive price lists and products.
  • Work with and through management to develop and implement actions that protect company assets and profitability.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in agriculture , engineering, industrial management or related field AND 1 or more years of related experience; military experience or internship preferred
  • In lieu of college degree, HS diploma/GED and 4-5 years of plant/production management experience; military experience/background a plus .

  • Exceptional communication skills both written and oral.
  • Good math and computer skills.
