This opportunity is available through Project Onramp, a Life Sciences industry initiative to help Pell granted undergraduates gain access to paid summer internships, industry mentors, and early career training. We are partnered with 100+ companies across the country, and have placed 1000 students in summer internships since 2019.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

As a Strategy and Management Consulting Intern at RSM, you will work with mid-sized businesses in diverse industries and receive hands‑on client experience with direct access to executive management. Assigned to numerous projects, you will work on several pieces of any particular assignment—not just one small part—and you will feel a great sense of accomplishment on what you learned once done. INTERNSHIP DATES

June 15 to August 7, 2026

In-person at the office: 3 days per week

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Meet with clients and conduct management consulting projects based on client needs.
  • Facilitate user workshops to gather and document business needs, requirements, weaknesses and challenges.
  • Assist business users, project managers and IT leadership in optimizing the scope, benefits and risks of proposed projects.
  • Conduct benchmarking research and analysis for IT spending, trends and industry practices.
  • Provide leadership in working with solution vendors.
  • Prepare reports on consulting services performed for clients, delivering reports where appropriate and discussing results and recommendations with clients.
  • Work with clients to provide analysis, development and documentation of improvement opportunities; this may include implementation and training components.
  • Complete client projects effectively and efficiently and maintaining a high level of proficiency.
  • Travel to client locations as required.
DESIRED MAJORS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS + SKILLS

Only seeking undergrads in their junior year. Graduation: December 2026 or Spring 2027.

  • Working towards a B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent from an accredited university in the field of Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Economics, Human Resources, Math, Organizational Development, Supply Chain or other related concentration.
  • Must have an understanding of strategy consulting.
  • Prior experience and success in leadership positions preferred.
  • The ability to be a proactive and collaborative member of a team.
  • Comfortable analyzing processes and finding solutions.
  • Comfortable with goals and independent work.
  • Travel to assigned client locations locally and nationally is required. Must have access to and ability to arrange for use of reliable modes of transportation to those locations. Supervisors will discuss travel and help coordinate travel logistics with interns beforehand.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% locally and nationally, if needed.
  • A minimum 3.5 GPA is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Candidates are required to live within a commutable distance of our New York City office.
  • Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States.

  • Assuming the Intro Meeting goes smoothly, you will be invited to a virtual info session led by RSM staff members on Thurs, Feb. 26th at 12:30 PM EST.
  • After attending the info session, RSM will send you a specific link to complete their online application. NOTE: Preference and priority will be given to those candidates who have attended the information session.
  • The RSM team will then review the applications and select/contact candidates for interviews in March.
