Job summary

Akima Mission Optimization (AMO) seeks a Mid-Level Management Analyst to gather and analyze information in support of program managers and senior leadership. You will evaluate organizational structures, processes, and resource utilization to identify improvement opportunities in complex operational environments, with emphasis on Navy-related programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, a technical field, or related discipline is desired.
  • An associate's degree may be substituted with an additional four years of relevant experience.
  • Seven years of relevant professional experience in engineering/science management or related fields is desired.
  • Significant experience supporting U.S. Navy programs or operations is desired.
  • Demonstrated experience applying analytical methods to evaluate management processes and performance.
  • Experience developing and analyzing program metrics, milestones, and performance information.
  • Experience conducting work measurement studies, efficiency reviews, and cost analyses.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for senior leadership.
  • Ability to lead working groups and collaborative activities.
  • Ability to develop practical solutions to complex management challenges.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a complex environment.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • This position applies knowledge of management functions, processes, and analytical methods to gather, analyze, and evaluate information in support of program and project managers, customers, and major Command-level mission requirements.
  • The Mid-Level Management Analyst will evaluate organizational structures, management processes, resource utilization, operational efficiency, and program performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • This position will develop recommendations and solutions to management challenges, support program and project milestones, analyze performance metrics, and communicate findings to senior leadership.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, experience supporting complex operational environments, and significant experience with U.S. Navy programs or operations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Business, Management, a technical field, or another relevant discipline is desired.
  • An associate's degree (AA/AS) may be substituted for the BA/BS degree with an additional four (4) years of relevant professional experience.
  • Seven (7) years of relevant professional experience in engineering/science management, operations research analysis, financial/cost analysis, or a related field is desired.
  • Significant experience supporting U.S. Navy programs or operations is desired.
  • Demonstrated experience applying analytical methods and techniques to evaluate management processes, organizational effectiveness, resource utilization, and operational performance.
  • Experience developing and analyzing program or project metrics, milestones, and performance information.
  • Experience conducting work measurement studies, operational efficiency reviews, cost studies, workload analyses, or similar business-related analytical activities.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead working groups, team meetings, workshops, roundtables, or other collaborative activities.
  • Ability to develop practical solutions to complex management and organizational challenges.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a complex operational environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting U.S. Navy Commands, programs, or operations.
  • Experience supporting U.S. Government or Department of Defense programs.
  • Experience with organizational effectiveness, process improvement, resource management, or program evaluation.
  • Experience with logistics, quality assurance, budgeting, financial analysis, or cost analysis.
  • Experience developing and delivering customized training programs, workshops, or management roundtables.
  • Experience presenting analytical findings and recommendations to senior leadership or Command-level stakeholders.
  • Experience using automated management information systems and other analytical tools to support fact-finding, analysis, reporting, and decision-making.
