UC Riverside Health is actively expanding its Managed Care and Clinically Integrated Network across Riverside and San Bernardino counties. This field-based role is the primary liaison for independent physicians and practices, guiding participation and contracting while feeding field insights back to senior leadership as data and recommendations.
You will travel to physician offices and engage with office administrators and physicians, bringing what you learn in the field to support network
UCR Health is actively building its Managed Care and Clinically Integrated Network (CIN) across Riverside and San Bernardino counties, and this role is central to that work. The Managed Care Network Development Specialist grows the network by bringing independent physicians and practices into UCR Health's network. This is a field-based role. Expect to spend much of your week in physician offices working with office administrators and physicians alike. You should be equally comfortable walking stakeholders through network participation and the contracting process while bringing what you learn in the field back to senior leadership as data and recommendations. On the provider side, you will be the primary field liaison for vetting provider candidates for the network. You will identify prospective practices and make the case for joining UCR Health's managed care or Clinically Integrated Network. You will guide physicians through contracting process alongside our contracting team and stay connected after onboarding so providers stay engaged and in network. During periods of annual enrollment events, you will work on the member side and own relationships with insurance brokers, employer benefit managers, TPAs, and public agencies. You will log activity and work with data to expand the network. You will work directly with UCR Health's Chief Strategy Officer and give input into network expansion while bringing back field intelligence. Because the network is still being built, the relationships, processes, and pipeline you create will become the foundation the health system relies on for years. This role is a strong fit for professionals from provider relations, health plan network management, IPA or medical group development, physician liaison work, or employee benefits brokerage. Familiarity with the Inland Empire's managed care landscape (Medi-Cal managed care, Medicare Advantage, commercial HMO/PPO) is a strong plus. Join a growing academic health system whose mission is expanding access to high-quality, coordinated care in one of California's most underserved regions. This is an opportunity for a motivated healthcare professional to own a critical function within a growing academic health system — one deeply committed to serving the Inland Southern California community with high-quality, coordinated care. The full salary range for the Managed Care Network Development Specialist is $66,043.44 - $115,612.56 annually. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
4 - 7 years of related experience in provider relations, health plan network development, physician recruitment, medical group/IPA operations, employee benefits brokerage, or a related healthcare business development role.
