Zusammenfassung

Wellstar Cobb Breast and X-Ray Center is seeking a part-time Mammography Technologist in Georgia. You will provide high-quality imaging and patient support as a valued member of a collaborative care team.

The role requires ARRT credentials, at least 1 year of radiologic and mammography experience, and strong attention to patient safety and comfort. A supportive environment with opportunities for career progression is offered.

Qualifikationen

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Minimum 1 year of radiologic technologist experience and 1 year mammography experience in a hospital.
• ARRT-R, ARRT-M, and BLS certifications required.

Aufgaben

• Perform mammography exams per physician order and protocol with two identifiers.
• Explain the exam clearly and address patient anxiety (AIDET).
• Maintain patient privacy, dignity, and comfort during positioning and transfers.
• Review images for quality and completeness, aiming for first-time acceptance.
• Operate equipment safely, optimize dose, and maintain infection control standards.
• Document results in PACS/RIS, label images correctly, and ensure daily charge capture.
• Support training of new team members and provide clear pre- and post-exam instructions.
• Keep mammography suite clean, stocked, and compliant with FDA guidelines.

• Perform mammography exams per physician order and protocol, confirming patient identity with two unique identifiers.
• Gather relevant history, screen for contraindications, and explain the exam clearly (AIDET) to reduce anxiety.
• Protect patient privacy, dignity, and comfort while positioning patients safely and assisting with transfers as needed.
• Review images for quality and completeness, maintaining a strong first-time acceptance rate before releasing patients.
• Use sound clinical judgment, clarify unclear orders (including RBAC for verbal orders), and assist in emergencies or across imaging areas when needed.
• Operate mammography equipment safely, optimize dose and technique, and keep equipment clean and ready per infection control/FDA guidelines.
• Perform and document required ACR/MQSA QC tests including Phantom, Visual Checklist, Repeat Analysis, Compression Pressure, Compression Thickness, Flat Field Test, Calibration and DICOM Printer Test.
• Ensure all images are accurately labeled, oriented, and documented in PACS/RIS; complete daily charge capture for procedures.
• Keep the mammography suite clean and stocked; apply shielding and immobilization devices appropriately.
• Provide clear pre- and post-exam instructions, address questions or elevate to providers, and support training of new team members.
• Maintain concise, timely documentation; stay current with emails and required education.
• Communicate professionally, work well in a fast-paced team, and bring strong skills in anatomy, pathology, positioning, radiation safety, and mammography best practices.
