Job summary

Mercy in Fort Smith, AR is seeking an Advanced Mammography Technologist to perform dedicated mammography imaging procedures to support diagnosis and treatment. You will operate mammography and related imaging equipment, ensure patient safety, and maintain high-quality imaging standards.

Strong communication with patients and healthcare professionals, ARRT (R)(M) certification, and graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program with clinical hours.
• ARRT certification required; BLS preferred.
• State licensure may be required depending on state of practice.

This role requires operating mammography and other imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining high-quality imaging standards. The Advanced Mammography Technologist must also effectively communicate with patients and healthcare professionals to provide optimal care.

Education:

Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program and completed required clinical hours.

Experience:

1 year of relevant experience OR graduate of Bachelor degree program

Licensure:

State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.

Certification/Registration:

ARRT (R)(M); Basic Life Support (BLS);

• Proficient knowledge in producing diagnostic images with the ability to recognize technical abnormalities
• Knowledge of a variety of advanced procedures as applicable
• Knowledge of safe & proper machine operation.
• Knowledge of quality improvement programs.
• Knowledge of machine emergency procedures and radiation safety procedures.
• Knowledge of protocols and ability to make adjustments as needed
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
