Job summary

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is seeking a dedicated Mammography Technologist to join our Radiology team. This full-time day shift role runs Monday–Friday, with a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance available.

The Mammography Technologist will perform mandated exams and uphold safety standards for patients and staff. As part of Inova, you will provide high-quality radiologic services, support students and technologists, and maintain equipment and rooms to ensure a safe, efficient department

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of radiography.
• ARRT certification as Radiologic Technologist and Mammography Certification.
• BLS certification required on start date.

Responsibilities

• Administers sound patient care per hospital policies to ensure patient safety.
• Maintains equipment, rooms and work areas in a safe condition.
• Provides clinical radiology services and supports radiology students and staff.
• Per MQSA, performs required number of mammography exams and directives.

• The Mammography Technologist administers sound patient care practices according to hospital and department policies/procedures to ensure the safety of patients.
• Completes ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent departmental operations.
• Demonstrates radiation protection/safety for patients, staff, and self as outlined in department protocols and regulatory guidelines.
• Maintains equipment, exam rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and team members.
• Provides clinical services according to radiology practice standards while acting as a resource to radiology students and other technologists to ensure optimal department functions.
• Per MQSA requirement, the mammography technologist must perform 200 exams every 24 months and if necessary, requalify with 25 directly supervised exams and 175 exams performed within six months.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of radiography.
• License: Must be certified by ARRT as a Radiologic Technologist. Must obtain Mammography Certification within one year upon acceptance of the offer.
• Certification:Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association upon start
