Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited radiological sciences program or equivalent.
• 2 years in modality.
• 1 year at BH.

Responsibilities

• Ensures proper identification of all patients according to established policy and procedure.
• Understands and operates Radiology and Mammography information systems; maintains knowledge of operator manuals for safe operation of equipment; follows radiation safety policy.
• Performs clinical mammography tasks: positioning, compression, exposure, film labeling, processing; reviews images with radiologist.
• Acts as liaison with hospital personnel to ensure timely coordinated services and maintains patient confidentiality.
• Assists in interventional procedures including stereotactic breast biopsy and ultrasound-guided procedures; handles specimen paperwork and transport.
• Performs quality control of mammography units and related equipment as per MQSA and FDA guidance.
• Participates in department quality assurance activities; assists in maintaining stock room inventory.
• Maintains documentation for Imaging Career Ladder; adheres to policy.
