Job summary

Lee Health's Womens Breast Center in Cape Coral, FL seeks a full-time Radiologic Technologist specializing in breast imaging. The role covers screening and diagnostic mammography, bone density, and ultrasound-guided procedures, under a Radiologist's direction.

You will assist with breast biopsies/localizations, ensure QC per ACR/MQSA, and participate in staff training and performance-improvement initiatives, reporting to the department.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in radiologic technology or two years hospital-based program required.
• 40 hours mammographic continuing education required by MQSA after April 28,1999.
• ARRT certifications in Radiology, Mammography and Breast Ultrasound; ARDMS breast ultrasound acceptable to meet requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform all modalities for breast health imaging including screening and diagnostic mammography, bone density, stereotactic breast biopsies, ultrasound-guided procedures and needle/localizations.
• Assist Radiologist in Breast Biopsies and Needle localizations; participate in staff training and performance improvement initiatives.

Department: Womens Breast Center

Work Type: Full Time

Shift: Shift 1/8:30:00AM to 5:00:00PM

Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate: $35.17 - $45.73 / hour

Summary

Performs all modalities for breast health imaging which includes screening and diagnostic mammography, bone density, stereotactic breast biopsies, needle / savi localizations breast ultrasound, breast ultrasound biopsies, breast ultrasound aspiration, breast ultrasound abscess drainage, breast ultrasound needle/savi localizations. All specialized breast diagnostic imaging performed under the direction of a qualified Radiologist. Ensures that quality control as required under ACR (American College of Radiology) and the MQSA (Mammography Quality Standards Act) is being met. Assists the Radiologist in Breast Biopsies and Needle localizations. Works positively with all customers to promote patient, employee and physician satisfaction. Assists with training mammography technologist I and II. Participates in performance improvement initiatives. Participates in staff/student orientation training.

Requirements

Education: Associates degree in radiologic technology or Two years formal education in a hospital-based program required. Documentation and completion of 40 hours mammographic continuing education required by MQSA after April 28,1999. If licensed after April 28, 1999.

Experience: A minimum of two years experience in mammography to include all aspects of screening and diagnostic imaging and bone densitometry. Must have experience performing stereotactic breast biopsies, mammographic guided needle/savi localizations. Experience is also required in breast ultrasound, breast ultrasound biopsies, breast ultrasound guided needle/savi localizations, ultrasound guided aspirations and ultrasound guided abscess drainage.

Certification: ARRT Certification in Radiology required. ARRT Certification in Mammography required. ARRT Certification in Breast Ultrasound required. ARDMS Certification in breast ultrasound is acceptable to meet requirements for Breast Ultrasound. ARRT Certification in Bone Densitometry optional.

License: State of Florida Radiologic Technologist license required.
