Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) seeks a Mammography Technologist II for the Steamtown location in Lackawanna/Scranton area. The role performs breast imaging exams, including screening and diagnostic mammography, QC, and related procedures. Rotates locations and shifts as needed; requires ARRT RT and CMT upon hire, BLS within 60 days. Full-time day shift.

Graduate of AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program; 1 year mammography experience preferred; flexibility with schedule changes.

Qualifications

• Specialized Diploma graduate of AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• 1 year experience in screening and diagnostic mammographic breast imaging.
• RT - Registered Technologist Radiology - ARRT upon hire.
• CMT - Certified Mammography Technologist - ARRT upon hire.
• BLS - Basic Life Support per AHA within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Performs breast imaging exams and interventional/invasive procedures as assigned.
• Performs quality control on mammography equipment and diagnostic review workstations.
• Maintains an environment of patient safety and compliance with governing body requirements (MQSA/FDA/ACR).
• Rotates locations and shifts to meet departmental needs.
• Assists with scheduling, patient education, and EMR data entry.

Performs quality control on mammography and biopsy equipment and/or diagnostic review workstations. Maintains an environment of patient safety and compliance according to the standards established by governing body requirements. Performing basic clerical duties and/or appointment scheduling may be required. Rotates locations and shifts as assigned to meet departmental needs. **Job Duties*** Interacts professionally as an effective team member, promoting a positive work environment; communicates and works collaboratively with care team as appropriate and assists with orientation of new colleagues.* Performs quality mammographic images utilizing ACR positioning guidelines as well as evaluating technical quality of images; makes necessary adjustments in positioning and/or technical factors to optimize images for all breast imaging studies.* Confirms patient identification, reviews imaging requests and confirms study with patient; explains breast imaging exams and provides education to patients; enters accurate information into the EMR and assists with locating prior images and reports.* Complies with hospital and departmental policies and procedures and completes assigned education modules; maintains MQSA/FDA/ACR compliance and with assists with performance improvement.* Ensures proper breast imaging equipment operation and performs quality control evaluations as required.* Assists in error monitoring, troubleshooting, calling for repairs, and notifying department management; recommends and implements appropriate actions based on accurate and timely reporting of departmental findings and assumes responsibility for cleanliness of equipment and maintaining supplies. **Minimum Qualifications*** Specialized Diploma Graduate of AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology* 1 year Experience in screening and diagnostic mammographic breast imaging* Ability to initiate, accept, and adapt to constant change within a healthcare environment.* Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.* Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to perform quality imaging and communicate with patients* Flexibility in work hours and/or sites to meet identified needs. Performs necessary assignments as directed* RT - Registered Technologist Radiology - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Upon Hire* CMT - Certified Mammography Technologist - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Upon Hire* BLS - Basic Life Support AHA - American Heart Association within 60 Days **Preferred Qualifications*** Associate’s Degree Graduate of AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology* 1 year Experience with full-field digital mammography and/or 3D mammographic imaging and* 1 year Previous experience in performing interventional/invasive procedures. **Physical Demands** Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, \\*patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
