Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Mammography Technologist I to perform mammograms, biopsies and bone density exams in accordance with MQSA and ACR standards. The role is part of the direct patient care team and may assist with quality control activities.

The position is non-exempt and requires ARRT and Texas licensure credentials, along with Basic Life Support. You will collaborate with radiology staff to ensure high-quality imaging and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Sufficient proficiency in English to perform essential functions and safety tasks.
• Ability to communicate with patients, physicians and colleagues with a customer-service focus.
• Basic computer knowledge; operates Hospital/Radiology Information Systems and Office software.

Responsibilities

• Performs mammograms for diagnostic and screening purposes; performs biopsies and bone density exams.
• Assists physicians during diagnostic or special procedures, including sterile technique.
• Modifies technical factors to optimize image quality and patient experience; addresses complications and limitations.
• Provides explanations and instructions to patients and family members at an appropriate level.
