Job summary

Onsite Women's Health is seeking an experienced Mammography Technologist to provide screening and diagnostic mammograms within a private-practice OB/GYN setting. You will work independently with ownership of patient-centric care and enjoy a Monday–Friday schedule with no weekend shifts, utilizing the latest 3D tomosynthesis equipment to support MQSA compliance and patient comfort.

Must stay current with CME credits and state licensure, and be capable of handling varied technical tasks to ensure

  • Must be up to date on CME credits.
  • Hold a valid state license if applicable.
  • Must be patient centric, compassionate, and computer savvy.
  • Able to perform a variety of technical activities associated with screening and diagnostic mammography procedures.
  • Flexible with the ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

  • Specializes in producing screening and diagnostic mammograms for breast cancer detection.
  • Responsible for the initial and ongoing success of the mammography service in the practice.
  • Assist in ensuring all eligible patients have annual screening mammograms, especially during the first 18 months of a new practice.
  • Prepare patients for mammographic procedures and explain procedures to reduce anxiety.
  • Position and adjust mammography equipment to achieve optimal exposure and image quality.
  • Maintain equipment, perform QA testing per MQSA and state requirements, and ensure patient confidentiality.
  • Document data and prepare required reports and data per MQSA and state requirements.

What do you need to be the right candidate for this role?

What are your responsibilities?


  • Specializes in the production of screening and diagnostic mammograms for the detection of breast cancers and lesions.

  • Responsible for the initial and ongoing success of the mammography service in the practice in which one works.

  • Assist practice in any and all ways possible to be sure all eligible age-appropriate patients have annual screening mammograms - this is particularly critical in the first 18 months of a new practice.

  • Prepares patients for the mammographic procedure.

  • Explains procedures to the patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.

  • Moves mammographic equipment to specific positions and adjusts controls to set exposure factors based on knowledge of radiographic exposure techniques and protocols.

  • Practices radiation protection techniques by using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding skills.

  • Follows prescribed safety standards in operating all required equipment.

  • Examines digital images for image quality.

  • Ensures equipment is in proper working order at all times.

  • Performs all required QA testing required to comply with MQSA, ACR and State requirements/regulations.

  • Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.

  • Processes routine paperwork and all required data entry.

  • Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.

  • Prepares all required reports and data pursuant to MQSA and State requirements.
