Job description

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Mammography Technologist to join our healthcare team at Layton Hospital. Qualified Applicants may be eligible for a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance, if applicable.

As a Mammography Technologist, you will be responsible for performing screening and diagnostic mammography exams on patients using specialized equipment. You will work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and high-quality imaging results. This role will work day shifts, from Monday-Friday. Shift times are from 0700-1730. Maintains American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functionsPerforms radiologic mammography exams per department protocol including advanced Mammography procedures like stereotactic biopsies, clip placements, drainages, etc.Operates the mammographic equipment to ensure that diagnostic images of high quality are produced.Practices appropriate infection control and sterile techniques.Follows protocols, coding, charging, consents, QC programs, and reporting equipment failures.

Graduate of an accredited program of Radiologic TechnologyBasic Life Support certification (BLS) for healthcare providersAmerican Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)ARRT Mammography or currently attending and receiving formal training to cross-train in mammographyExperience in Mammography (preferred)Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
