Job summary

Hmixray in Greenbelt, MD seeks a dedicated Mammography Technologist to deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging with outstanding patient care. You will operate mammography equipment, apply compression and exposure settings, and follow established protocols to support accurate diagnoses.

The role requires ARRT certification, state radiologic license, and BLS, with at least one year of imaging experience preferred.

Qualifications

ARRT(R)(M) certification is required.
State License in Diagnostic Radiologic Technology is required.
BLS certification is required.
At least one year of diagnostic imaging experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate mammographic equipment and adjust settings per policy.
Produce high-quality diagnostic images in a timely manner with excellent patient care.
Monitor patients’ well-being during exams and respond to discomfort or issues.
Guide patients through the exam, answer questions, and ensure understanding of procedures.
Respond to physician questions and maintain patient privacy and data security.

You Will

Perform a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic equipment and other equipment/devices with adherence to established company policies and protocols.
Produce high quality diagnostic images in a timely manner while providing excellent patient care.
Understand and use compression, exposure modes, filter, KvP, Mas, grid selection, focal spot size, AEC selection, photo cell selection and other adjustments and factors on the equipment in order to produce high quality images.
Monitor patients’ well- being during exams; recognize patient discomfort or medical problems and take appropriate action.
Guide patients through this sometimes-difficult process by kindly talking them through the steps and answering their questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process.
Respond to physician questions and needs regarding patients.
Demonstrates competency regarding the need to safeguard patient property and Patient Health Information.
Safeguards any on site medications in accordance with Company policies, procedures and any legal requirements.
Demonstrates respect for company property, including any cash and patient financial information on site or on patient portals.
Is responsive to the needs of others by exhibiting and maintaining professional behavior toward patients and coworkers.
Demonstrates respect for patient boundaries and cultural sensitivities during all interactions.
