Job summary

RadNet in Westminster, MD is seeking a Mammography Technologist to join a dedicated radiology team. You will operate mammographic equipment, produce high-quality diagnostic images, and ensure patient comfort and safety during exams.

Requirements include ARRT certification, State License in Diagnostic Radiologic Technology, and BLS. One year of diagnostic imaging experience is preferred. We offer comprehensive benefits and free imaging services for you and your family.

Qualifications

• ARRT(R) certification is required.
• State License in Diagnostic Radiologic Technology is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• At least one year of diagnostic imaging experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate mammographic equipment and adhere to company policies and protocols.
• Produce high-quality diagnostic images in a timely manner with excellent patient care.
• Apply compression, exposure modes, filter, KvP, Mas, grid, focal spot, AEC, and other settings to optimize images.
• Monitor patients’ well-being during exams and respond to discomfort or medical issues.
• Guide patients through the exam process with clear explanations and reassurance.
• Respond to physician questions and needs regarding patients.
• Safeguard patient property and Health Information; comply with relevant regulations.
• Safeguard on-site medications per policy and legal requirements.
• Maintain professional behavior toward patients and coworkers; respect privacy and boundaries.
• Interact diplomatically with patients, families, and the public in a clinical setting.
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

When you join us as a Mammography Technologist, you will be joining a dedicated team of professionals who deliver quality, value, and access in the 21 st century and align all stakeholders- patients, providers, payors, and regulators to achieve the best clinical outcomes.

You Will

• Perform a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic equipment and other equipment/devices with adherence to established company policies and protocols.
• Produce high quality diagnostic images in a timely manner while providing excellent patient care.
• Understand and use compression, exposure modes, filter, KvP, Mas, grid selection, focal spot size, AEC selection, photo cell selection and other adjustments and factors on the equipment in order to produce high quality images.
• Monitor patients’ well- being during exams; recognize patient discomfort or medical problems and take appropriate action.
• Guide patients through this sometimes-difficult process by kindly talking them through the steps and answering their questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process.
• Respond to physician questions and needs regarding patients.
• Demonstrates competency regarding the need to safeguard patient property and Patient Health Information.
• Safeguards any on site medications in accordance with Company policies, procedures and any legal requirements.
• Demonstrates respect for company property, including any cash and patient financial information on site or on patient portals.
• Is responsive to the needs of others by exhibiting and maintaining professional behavior toward patients and coworkers.
• Demonstrates respect for patient boundaries and cultural sensitivities during all interactions.
• Demonstrates ability to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with patients, their families, and the public in a clinical setting.
