Qualifications

  • Advanced Registered in Mammography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

Responsibilities

  • Produce radiographs of the breasts.
  • Position patients with the X-ray machine and regulate technical factors.
  • Assist radiologist in procedures; prepare patients and maintain daily log.
  • Produce high quality mammograms.
  • Position and transfer patients to/from the X-ray room using proper safety techniques.
  • Select proper technical factors for examinations.
  • Develop films by automatic or daylight processing.
  • Assist physician in administering opaque media.
  • Assist physician during needle localization, biopsies, and stereotactic procedures.
  • Draws up contrast media for opaque exams using sterile technique.

Responsibilities

The Mammography Technologist is responsible for producing radiographs of the breasts. Position patients with the x- ray machine and regulate technical factors to produce radiographs. Position and transfer patients to and from the x-ray room using proper safety techniques. Selects proper technical factors for examinations. Develop films by automatic or daylight processing. Assist physician in administering opaque media. Assists physician during needle localization, biopsies, and stereotactic procedures. Draws up contrast media for opaque exams using sterile technique.

Qualifications

Graduate of an approved school for Radiologic Technology. Communicate with patients and other Health Professional. Understand written and verbal instruction. Licensed for New York State in Radiologic Technology. Advanced Registered in Mammography by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Maintain CURRENT MQSA requirement. Previous experience preferred. Excellent communication and customer service skills required.
