Job summary

Dignity Health Medical Group is seeking a Radiologic Mammography Technologist to perform mammographic imaging in outpatient clinics. You will prepare patients, relay radiologist instructions, and work to capture diagnostic-quality images for accurate diagnosis.

You will also troubleshoot and maintain radiology equipment, document patient data, and may travel to other local sites in the Greater Sacramento Area as needed. A positive, patient-focused attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• High school graduate required.
• AMA Radiologic Technology program completed or in AMA Technologist path.
• CA Medical Radiographer license or verification prior to start date.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for radiologic/mammography exams and relay instructions from radiologists.
• Capture diagnostic-quality mammography images.
• Document patient data and concerns in the medical record for radiologist review.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Radiologic Mammography Technologist with Dignity Health Medical Foundation, now part of CommonSpirit Health, you will perform mammographic imaging procedures in our outpatient clinics.

Every day you will assist in preparing patients for Radiologic/Mammography examinations and relay instructions from the radiologist, help capture usable diagnostic images from patients so the Radiologist can accurately diagnose and/or rule out different conditions, and collect patient data, documenting patient concerns, patient messages, and care provided in the patient's medical record for the Radiologist’s review. You will also troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain radiology equipment to avoid equipment failures. You may be required to occasionally work at other locations within the Greater Sacramento Area as needed.

Job Requirements

Required

• High School Graduate General Studies
• Satisfactory completion of a formal AMA school of Radiologic Technology or equivalent to an AMA Technologic program. Completion of 40 hours of structured education in Mammography.
• Medical Radiographer: CA
  • Candidates in the process of obtaining CA licensure may be considered, however CA license must be verified prior to start date.
• Current BLS through American Heart Association (AHA BLS)
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills are essential.
• Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy and physiology for imaging, proper operation of and care of radiology diagnostic equipment, and radiation safety.
• Medical terminology and familiarity with an electronic practice management system and PACS.

Preferred

• One (1) year experience as a Radiologic/Mammography Technologist
• Six (6) months experience in an outpatient environment
• Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT
