Job summary

RAYUS Radiology is seeking a Mammography Technologist (PRN/temporary) in Murfreesboro, TN. You will operate mammography scanners, ensure patient comfort, and uphold safety standards while delivering high-quality imaging services.

Must be AMA approved radiography graduate, ARRT registered, and state licensed where applicable. CPR certified with ongoing CEUs. Per diem shifts, no remote work.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved school of radiography.
• ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing.
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable.
• Current CPR certification and continuing CEUs as required.

Responsibilities

• Operate assigned mammography scanner(s) to obtain diagnostic images.
• Explain procedures and prepare patients; position for images.
• Maintain patient records in RIS and adhere to safety regulations.
• Assist with protocol manuals, software upgrades, and inventory as needed.
• Provide patient support and communication throughout procedures.

This is a per diem / temporary position; shifts will vary.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Mammography Technologistto join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a Mammography Technologist, you will beresponsible for the operation of assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Taking a patient centered approach, you will provide Mammography services within professional standards and with excellent customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure
• Explains and prepares patients for Mammography imaging procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately imaged/scanned
• Performs routine and advanced Mammography imaging procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
• Adjusts Mammography scan parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques as appropriate
• Follows physicians' orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, and accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
• Maintains an orderly and clean work area including equipment promoting good safety habits for patients and team members
• Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements

(5%) Mammography Department Support

• Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
• Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
• Assists with training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable

(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned

Requirements

Required:

• High School diploma, or equivalent
• Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
• ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
• Must have sufficient training and experience to competently perform mammography procedures independently
• Certification in imaging specialty
• Must have continuing CEU's in modality as required by MQSA or state specific
