Job description

Position Summary: Responsible for performing mammography and general radiologic imaging for the detection of diseases, injury, and foreign bodies.

Department: McLaren Imaging Center

Shift: Days

Daily Work Times: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Scheduled Bi-Weekly Hours: 48

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing radiological examinations, minimum of 17 patients in an 8-hour period.
  • Transferring and positioning patients using accepted safety and lifting techniques, applying immobilization devices as necessary.
  • Providing patient and image identification on all examinations for medical and legal documentation.
  • Completing documentation of all radiologic examinations, ensuring image quality meets radiologist standards.
  • Selecting and operating radiological equipment, adjusting technical factors to ensure compliance with department standards.

Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of formal education/training beyond high school or an Associate's Degree.
  • Certified in Mammography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or within 12 months of employment.
  • At least 1 month of job-related experience.
  • Eligible for registration/certification as a Radiologic Technologist, with certification passed within 6 months of completing schooling.
  • Certified in CPR.
