Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a Mammography Technologist I to perform screening and diagnostic mammography with precise positioning and compression. You will work with Radiologists to ensure accurate imaging while complying with FDA/MQSA and ACR standards.

The role requires 1–3 years of radiologic imaging experience and ARRT radiography certification; mammography credentialing or eligibility within six months is expected. BCLS is required; MS-based benefits may apply.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of radiologic imaging experience.
• 2-4 years as a mammographer in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist by state required.
• ARRT Radiography Certification required.
• (M) ARDMS or ARRT - Mammography certification or eligibility to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
• BCLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs mammography imaging procedures, ensuring high-quality screening and diagnostic images through proper positioning, technique, and compression.
• Adheres to safety protocols, radiation protection standards, and infection control guidelines to ensure patient and staff safety.
• Ensures equipment functionality and maintenance, performing routine quality control testing per ACR and FDA/MQSA requirements.
• Reviews physician orders and patient history, ensuring all mammography procedures are correctly ordered, verified, and acknowledged.
• Educates patients on breast health, self-exam techniques, and procedure expectations, addressing concerns with professionalism.
• Assists radiologists with specialized mammography procedures, including fine needle aspiration (FNA), needle localizations, and biopsies, while maintaining sterile technique.
• Prepares patients for invasive mammography-guided procedures, providing clear instructions and post-procedure care guidance.
• Maintains accurate documentation and image storage as required by state, federal, and accreditation regulations.
• Manages mammography inventory and supplies, ensuring cost-effective use and proper stock levels for daily operations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Complies with all policies and standards.

Licenses and Certifications
