Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Mammography Technologist for Shelbyville Hospital - UMC. You will perform mammography and radiographic exams, following established protocols while assisting radiologists.

Education includes an Associate degree in Radiology; ARRT registration and mammography registry within 1 year are required, with BLS certification. Preference for 1 year radiography experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Radiology is required.
• Bachelor degree in Radiology is preferred.
• ARRT Registered.
• KY Radiation Operator certification (KBMIRT).
• Mammography registry within 1 year of employment (required).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA is required.
• Prefer 1 year of recent experience as a General Radiographer.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography and other radiographic examinations per protocols.
• Maintain accuracy in radiographic positioning and exposure technique.
• Ensure radiation safety and protection during all exams.
• Prepare for and assist radiologists with complex imaging procedures.
• Prepare and administer contrast media per hospital policy and regulations.
• Educate patients pre- and post-exam as appropriate.
• Maintain equipment, records, and department standards.
