Job summary

Southcoast Health in Fall River, MA is seeking a Mammography Tech for per diem shifts (Day/Evening with weekend and holiday rotation) at Charlton Memorial Hospital. You will perform diversified clinical care within mammography and radiography as part of an interdisciplinary care team.

The role requires RT licensure in MA/RI, BLS, ARRT RT(M) registration, and post-primary mammography certification within a year, with flu and COVID vaccinations or approved exemptions.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Post-primary mammography certification within one year of eligibility.
• Massachusetts and/or Rhode Island licensure required.
• BLS certification required.
• ARRT mammography registration required.
• Vaccination against influenza and COVID-19 or approved exemption upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform diversified clinical patient care in mammography and radiography.
• Position patient and select imaging equipment and supplies.
• Maintain image quality and apply ALARA to minimize exposure.
• Assist physicians during procedures and educate patients for exams.
• Document data in the EHR and maintain per diem status requirements.

Under the general supervision and direction of the Manager, Radiology Clinical Services or designee, perform diversified clinical patient care, technical and related duties within mammography and radiography as part of an interdisciplinary care team. Assume responsibility for each assigned patient, perform patient assessments, and correlate clinical findings with exam/procedure request. Obtain pertinent information from patient's chart and document all data within the EHR. Educate patient for exam. Position patient and select appropriate imaging equipment and supplies. Identify, prepare and/or administer pharmaceuticals related to the exam/procedure. Select technical factors/ parameters/sequences to produce quality images. Properly identify anatomy and evaluate images for technical quality. Apply the principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patient, self and others and aware of MR safety practices. Assist physicians in performing procedures. Maintain the non-committed per diem requirements.

• Successful completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology, and attainment of primary certification within one year of eligibility and post-primary certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Mammography RT(M).


• Post-primary certification in the advanced practice discipline of Mammography is required for RT's within one year of eligibility and/or per RT licensure in MA or RI.


• Current RT licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and/or Rhode Island is required based on location assignment.


• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.


• RT Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and/or Rhode Island.


• Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is required.


• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
