Qualifications

• Ability to work both 8-hour and 9-hour shifts and adapt to changing department needs.
• Ability and willingness to float within radiology as assigned; CT and X-ray cross-training is required for department coverage.
• Strong patient communication, technical, positioning, radiation safety, and imaging quality skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and screening mammography examinations in accordance with established protocols and safety standards.
• Prepare patients, explain procedures, and promote a comfortable and respectful breast imaging experience.
• Obtain high-quality diagnostic images and evaluate positioning and image quality.
• Accurately document examinations and patient information in Epic.
• Collaborate with radiologists, providers, nurses, and other imaging professionals to support timely patient care.
• Follow radiation safety, infection prevention, and department quality standards.
• Provide radiology coverage in fluoroscopy, the operating room, and off-site locations when assigned.
• Participate in call, holiday, and weekend coverage based on departmental needs.

• Job Title: Travel Mammography Technologist
• Specialty: Mammography and breast imaging
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,260-$2,430
• Start Date: November 9, 2026
• Assignment Length: 16 weeks, through February 28, 2027
• Schedule: Day shifts, typically 8-hour shifts; 8- or 9-hour shifts may be scheduled
• Average Hours: Approximately 36 hours per week
• Call and Holiday Coverage: Required as assigned; travelers must work 2 of 4 designated holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day
• Scheduling: Flexible scheduling is required; block schedules are not available
• Documentation System: Epic
• Department Support: Floating within radiology, including fluoroscopy, operating room, and off-site coverage, may be required
• Travel Consideration: Reliable personal transportation is strongly recommended. Snow or all-season tires may be needed during the winter months.

Mammography Technologist Job Requirements
