Job summary

Methodist Hospitals in Indiana seeks an experienced Mammography Support Specialist under supervision to assist Mammography staff and the Manager with training, CQI, and continuing education. Works closely with the Sub-section Chief and Radiologist to ensure efficient daily operation.

The role includes evaluating exams, assisting with biopsies, coordinating education, maintaining PACS/RIS integrity, and preparing for ACR accreditations while upholding HIPAA and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Radiologic Sciences required.
• ARRT radiology certification required; advanced mammography certification preferred.
• AMA-accredited radiologic technology program completed.
• MQSA CE requirements as specified by MQSA guidelines.
• Ability to train and orient staff on mammography procedures.
• Leadership and independent judgment expected.

Responsibilities

• Assesses exams and communicates findings under supervision.
• Assists leadership in CQI activities and annual reviews.
• Guides technologists and staff for proper use of mammography equipment.
• Performs breast imaging procedures with attention to patient condition and safety.
• Ensures PACS/RIS transfers and correct billing for studies.
• Assists in biopsies and invasive procedures with sterile technique.
