Job Summary

The Mammographer Screener is a specialized healthcare professional responsible for performing high-quality mammographic examinations to aid in the early detection of breast abnormalities, including cancer. The role requires technical expertise in operating mammography equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort, and accurately capturing diagnostic images. The screener works collaboratively with radiologists and other healthcare staff to provide exceptional patient care. This position is ECB status – requires a minimum number of worked hours per month as needed by the department; limited benefit offerings.

Minimum Education

Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification

Registration from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and certified in Mammography.

Experience

Minimum 6 months related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Proficient knowledge of mammography equipment and digital imaging systems
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal that present clear and concise information.
• Strong analytical skills for evaluating image quality.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment, managing multiple priorities with competing deadlines.
