Job Title

MAMMOGRAM TECH

Pay

$75 Per Hour

Shift

Days Monday through Friday, hours varying from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., depending on required coverage.

Rancho Mirage, CA

Job Duties

Produces quality screening and diagnostic mammography films and dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) exams; educates patients regarding patient exams and accurately documents procedures completed and procedure codes.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations
  • Interacts compassionately and effectively with patients, providing a Five Star experience by reducing anxieties; provides explanations of procedures and equipment, and answers questions
  • Escorts patients from the sub-wait area to the procedure room
  • Explain the procedure to the patient before beginning the exam
  • Obtains the appropriate medical history required (patient and family) before the procedure is started
  • Explains comparative film review and obtains patient film release signature, as appropriate
  • Performs appropriate screening and diagnostic mammography exams
  • Completes all required billing and documentation accurately and timely in EHR and PACS
  • Performs bone density screening as assigned
  • Maintains the cleanliness of all radiology equipment and rooms
  • Maintains job knowledge by the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) and state regulatory requirements
  • Follows department timekeeping procedures
  • Works at the main campus and satellite facilities

  • Proficient in the use of mammography and DEXA equipment
Required Certifications & Licensure

Required: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) – Radiology (R); California Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license, Radiography and Mammography; American Heart Association BLS.

Experience

Preferred: Mammography screening experience.

Required Education

Graduate of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCET) approved School of Radiologic Technology.
