Job summary

Prisma Health is seeking a radiologic technologist to perform breast imaging at Oconee Memorial Hospital in Seneca, SC. The role requires independent judgement for screening and diagnostic procedures, with a focus on high-quality mammography and biopsy support.

You will ensure radiation protection, stay current with new techniques, and collaborate with radiologists and the Mammography team in a dynamic clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills required.
• Certification program in Radiologic Technology required.
• SCRQSA certification, BLS, ARRT-Radiology and ARRT-Mammo Registered are required.

Responsibilities

• Obtains optimum quality breast images for radiologist interpretation while performing screening mammograms and diagnostic breast imaging studies.
• Assists radiologist during stereotactic and ultrasound guided biopsies.
• Assesses patients through review of previous studies and history to determine screening versus diagnostic status.
• Provides radiation protection per standards to minimize exposure without compromising image quality.
• Keeps up-to-date with changes by attending educational seminars and reading relevant material.
• Models punctuality by checking email on each shift and performing other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Performs a variety of breast imaging procedures that require independent judgement, ingenuity and competency.

Essential Functions

• Obtains optimum quality breast images for radiologist interpretation while performing screening mammograms and diagnostic breast imaging studies.
• Assists radiologist during stereotactic and ultrasound guided biopsies.
• Assess patients through review of previous studies and history to determine screening versus diagnostic patients.
• Covers other functions in the department as deemed necessary.
• Provides radiation protection in accordance with proper standards as set by State and Federal boards, uses proper shielding, collimation and technical factors that minimize radiation exposure without affecting quality of images.
• Remains abreast of changes and new procedures by attending educational seminars or classes and reading job related material.
• Stays abreast of organizational, affiliate and departmental changes/updates by checking email on each shift.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

• This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

Minimum Requirements

• Education - Certification program - Radiologic Technology
• Experience - No experience required. Prior radiology experience preferred
