Job summary

Minerva Cyber Technologies is seeking a Malware Analyst and Reverse Engineer to investigate suspicious files and software behavior to support defensive cybersecurity operations. You will identify malware capabilities and indicators, explain limitations, and deliver findings to incident responders and detection engineers.

In this role you will perform static and dynamic analyses, examine persistence mechanisms, and document IOCs and gaps in evidence.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience analyzing malicious code or reverse engineering software for defensive purposes.
  • Knowledge of executable formats, OS internals, debugging, and disassembly.
  • Ability to work in isolated analysis environments with safe sample handling.
  • Strong technical reporting and scripting skills with disciplined treatment of uncertainty.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.

Malware Analyst and Reverse Engineer

Minerva Cyber Technologies is seeking a Malware Analyst and Reverse Engineer to analyze suspicious files and software behavior to support defensive cybersecurity investigations. You will identify malware capabilities and indicators, explain limitations, and provide findings that help incident responders and detection engineers act.

What You Will Do

  • Perform static and dynamic malware analysis in controlled, authorized analysis environments.
  • Examine executable behavior, scripts, persistence mechanisms, and relevant system interactions.
  • Document capabilities, indicators of compromise (IOCs), confidence, and gaps in the available evidence.
  • Develop defensive signatures or analytical guidance and test them against appropriate samples.
  • Support incident response teams with clear findings and safe handling of malicious artifacts.

Required Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience analyzing malicious code or reverse engineering software for defensive purposes.
  • Knowledge of executable formats, operating system internals, debugging, and disassembly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Ghidra, IDA Pro, debuggers, sandboxes, YARA, or comparable malware analysis tools.
  • GREM or comparable malware analysis expertise and experience supporting real investigations.
