Job summary

NORY is seeking a Maker Education Fabricator to design and prototype hands-on STEM camp projects for children aged 3–12 across NYC and Boston. You will craft engaging experiences, train teachers, and develop multi-channel materials to extend learning beyond the classroom.

The role emphasizes hands-on fabrication, design-thinking, and mechatronics, with portfolio-driven evaluation and part-time/seasonal engagement.

Qualifications

• Portfolio of maker projects demonstrating hands-on fabrication, prototyping, and educational relevance.
• Ability to design engaging, age-appropriate STEM experiences for 3–12 year olds.

Responsibilities

• Prototyping Design & Fabrication: Create hands-on STEM camp projects for children aged 3-12.
• Interdisciplinary Learning: Integrate multiple domains into a cohesive learning experience.
• Storytelling & Experience Creation: Build immersive worlds to enhance educational impact.
• Multi-Channel Communication: Share vision with teachers across campuses, including via video.
• Child Development Insight: Tailor projects to developmental stages and interests.
• Teacher Empathy & Training: Coach teachers to safely use tools and projects in camps.
