Job summary

Fogelman is hiring an experienced Make Ready Technician to join The Oakley in Union City, CA. The role keeps occupied and vacant units in top condition, preparing spaces for new residents and coordinating with maintenance teams.

The successful candidate will have 2 years in maintenance, HVAC certification, and skills in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repair. Weekend work and on-call rotation may be required, and a valid driver’s license is often needed.

Qualifications

• Two years of maintenance experience preferred.
• HVAC experience with Type 1/2 or Universal certification preferred.
• Proficiency in plumbing, electrical, carpentry and appliance repair preferred.
• Depending on the property, a valid driver’s license and auto insurance may be required.

Responsibilities

• Clear out and dispose of items left behind after move out.
• Complete make-ready work per move-out checklist including painting.
• Perform new move-in service requests per checklist.
• Assist with inventory of supplies and furnish supervisor with needed lists.
• Assist with completing other service requests and preventive maintenance projects.
• Escalate unresolved issues to the Service Director.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Maintain positive communications with residents, vendors and coworkers.
• Weekend work may be required.
• Adhere to all company safety and housing policies.

Summary

The Make Ready Technician maintains efficient operation of the property by clearing out and preparing vacant units for new residents.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Assists with completing other service requests.
• Assists in preventive maintenance projects.

• May participate in "on call" rotation and respond to emergency calls as needed.
• Responsible for positive communications with residents, vendors, and co-workers.
• Weekend work may be required.
• Adhere to all company policies including but not limited to safety and Fair Housing.
• Other job duties as assigned.
