Job summary

Edward Rose & Sons is seeking a Make Ready Maintenance Technician Standby to join our on-site team in Mishawaka, IN. This role requires living in a company-provided apartment and responding to after-hours emergencies on a rotating basis.

The position emphasizes restoring vacant apartments to market-ready status, performing repairs, and maintaining excellent resident relations. HVAC experience or certification is preferred; training may be provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance including drywall, painting, electrical, plumbing.
• HVAC Certification is preferred but training may be provided.
• Own tools required.
• Maintain a professional appearance and communicate effectively with residents.
• Basic computer skills and comfort learning software and programs.
• Have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that all vacant apartment homes are restored to market-ready status.
• Completing full vacant turn process in a timely manner to meet move-in deadlines including drywall repairs, painting, caulking and grouting.
• Repair or replace appliances, faucets, garbage disposals, entry locks, windows as well as carpentry and ceramic tile installation.
• Completing administrative paperwork as necessary.
• Assisting with snow and ice removal, as required.
• Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

We are currently looking for a Standby Make Ready Maintenance Technician to join our on-site operations team to help support a positive experience for our residents. No commuting expense or dealing with traffic!

This particular role must live on-site in a company-provided apartment, in return for being available to respond to after-hours emergency calls on a rotating basis.This position requires the ability to complete all work orders assigned according to company policies and procedures.

What are the responsibilities of a Make Ready Maintenance Technician?

• Ensuring that all vacant apartment homes are restored to market-ready status

What are the role requirements?

• Previous experience in building maintenance working with drywall, painting, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, flooring, appliance repair, and HVAC is preferred but willing to train
• HVAC Certification or experience is preferred but willing to train
• Possess own tools
• Maintain a professional appearance following team dress code policy
• Able to effectively and professionally communicate with residents and co-workers
• Basic computer skills and comfort learning software, apps, and programs
• Have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
