Job summary

Barge Properties is seeking a dependable Make Ready/Maintenance Technician to support daily operations at our Tyler, TX property. You will assist with apartment turns, preventative maintenance, service requests, and grounds upkeep, collaborating with experienced staff to ensure clean, safe, and appealing communities.

The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, is eager to learn, and can work independently or as part of a team. Prior experience in related trades is helpful; EPA cert is not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic knowledge of maintenance tools and equipment.
• Willingness to learn and work independently or in a team.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily maintenance operations across the property.
• Help complete resident service requests promptly and professionally.
• Support routine and preventative maintenance activities.
• Assist with apartment turns and make-ready projects.
• Perform painting, cleaning, drywall repair, and minor repairs.
• Troubleshoot issues across maintenance areas.
• Maintain common areas, amenities, and grounds.
• Identify maintenance issues early to prevent larger repairs.
• Follow safety policies and company procedures.
• Maintain accurate work orders and maintenance records.
• Support senior team members on larger projects.
• Assist with inventory organization and supplies.

Barge Properties is seeking a dependable and motivated Make Ready/Maintenance Technicianto help support the daily operations and maintenance of our apartment communities.

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands‑on work, solving problems, learning new skills, and providing excellent service to residents. Working alongside experienced maintenance professionals, you will assist with apartment turns, preventative maintenance, service requests, grounds upkeep, and general property maintenance.

Whether you are beginning a career in multifamily maintenance or bringing experience from construction, facilities maintenance, hospitality, or a related trade, we provide opportunities to learn, grow, and advance within the property management industry.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Make Ready/Maintenance Technician, you will:

• Assist with daily maintenance operations throughout the property
• Help complete resident service requests in a timely and professional manner
• Support routine and preventative maintenance activities
• Assist with apartment turns and make‑ready projects
• Perform painting, cleaning, drywall repair, and minor repairs as needed
• Ability to trouble shoot in all areas above
• Assist with maintaining common areas, amenities, and property grounds
• Help identify maintenance issues before they become larger repairs
• Follow safety policies and company procedures
• Maintain accurate work orders and maintenance documentation
• Support senior maintenance team members with larger projects and repairs
• Assist with inventory organization and maintenance supplies as needed

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• This position requires full‑time, on‑site presence at our Tyler, TX property.
• The standard schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm.
• Some evening, weekend, and on‑call work may be required
• Occasional travel to nearby properties, vendors, or supply locations as needed
