Job summary

ESTIS MANAGEMENT LLC in Midland, TX seeks a hands-on Field Service Technician to develop profitable relationships with natural gas producing customers and maintain equipment in the field. You will perform major maintenance on compressor packages, troubleshoot issues, ensure regulatory compliance, and report findings to management while delivering reliable service and safe operation.

The role requires strong mechanical and electrical skills, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical skills and knowledge.
  • Customer focused and able to interact with clients.
  • 3 months - 5 years of experience in maintaining natural gas compression equipment.
  • Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
  • Set of hand tools up to 1¼".
  • Proficient English language skills (reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension).
  • Computer skills, including ability to use Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to pass drug screens and background checks.
  • Preferred: associate degree or higher in related field.
  • Preferred: bilingual in English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Maximizes cost effective and safe customer runtime reliability (mechanical availability).
  • Perform major maintenance services and troubleshoot compressor packages throughout operations.
  • Ensure compressor package environmental regulation compliance.
  • Report on new business opportunities with existing and potential customers.
  • Report on availability for hire of experienced field service personnel.
  • Builds positive relationships with customer personnel and makes recommendations.
  • Performs scheduled and unscheduled major maintenance and service on compressor packages.
  • Inspects compressors, control systems and engines using diagnostic tools.
  • Submit daily maintenance report data.
  • Complies with safety, health, and environmental policies.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and surrounding area.
  • Respond to and diagnose engine, compressor and control system failures.
  • Assist in field rebuilding or overhauling of engines, compressors, and controls.
  • Order, store, and control inventory of parts and tools.
  • Identify recurring issues and report to technical/fabrication teams.
  • Identify experienced field personnel for recruitment.
  • Adhere to safety requirements by wearing protective gear.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Details

Job Location: Estis Midland Shop- PRO - Midland, TX 79707

Position Overview:

Develops and maintains profitable relationships with natural gas producing customers within the defined geographic territory.


Responsibilities/Job Duties:


  • Maximizes cost effective and safe customer runtime reliability (mechanical availability);

  • Preform major maintenance services, and troubleshoots Company rental fleet compressor packages throughout all areas of operations within the company

  • Ensures compressor package environmental regulation compliance

  • Reports on new business opportunities with existing and potential customers

  • Reports on the potential availability for hire of experienced field service personnel

  • Builds positive working relationships and trust with customer personnel by understanding their requirements and making appropriate recommendations

  • Performs scheduled and unscheduled major maintenance and service on assigned high pressure gas lift skid mounted compressor packages within the company's areas of operations

  • Inspects compressors, control systems and engines, using micrometers, pressure gauges, electronic diagnostic equipment, and other tools to identify and correct potential problems before they occur

  • Submits daily maintenance report data

  • Complies with all Company, customer, and government regulatory agency safety, health, and environmental laws, rules, policies, and procedures

  • Maintains the cleanliness of Company equipment and surrounding area

  • Responds to and diagnoses reasons for engine, compressor and control system failures

  • Performs or assists in field rebuilding or overhauling of engines, compressors, and controls

  • Orders, stores, and controls an inventory of frequently needed parts and tools to maximize timely response to customer issues while avoiding the cost of excessive inventory, shrinkage, or obsolescence

  • Identifies recurring maintenance issues and equipment failures and reports on same to the technical and fabrication teams by electronic mail or telephone call

  • Identifies experienced field service personnel who may be open to recruitment and reports on these individuals to management

  • Adhere to safety requirements by wearing appropriate protective gear

  • Ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision

  • Performs other duties as assigned


Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Strong mechanical and electrical skills and knowledge

  • 3 months - 5 years of experience in maintaining natural gas compression equipment, including natural gas engines, compressors, control panels, skid wiring and conduit, end devices, tubing, vessels, and coolers

  • Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record

  • Set of hand tools up to 1 ¼\"

  • Proficient English language skills (reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension)

  • Computer skills, including ability to use Microsoft Office

  • Ability to pass drug screens and background checks

  • Prefer associates degree or higher in related field

  • Prefer bilingual in English/Spanish

  • Prefer knowledge of proper purging and loading practices and procedures

  • Ability to interpret compressor performance runs, calculate engine horsepower and calculate gas volumes

  • Prefer experience with rebuilding and overhaul of natural gas engines and compressors

  • Preferred experience with engine and compressor swings in field or shop settings


Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to stand, sit and/or walk on a hard surface as well as safely bend, stoop, reach, climb steps, and use ladder for long periods of time

  • Must be able to walk, climb, crouch, kneel, crawl, balance, reach, feel and hold objects with hands

  • Must be able to hear, speak, smell and taste

  • Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth and the ability to adjust focus with or without corrective lenses

  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds

  • Ability to communicate verbally using a telephone


Working Conditions:


  • Subject to outdoor environment with adjusting temperatures and climate

  • Driving a truck traveling from location to location is extensive

  • Subject to travel for extended periods for up to 90% of workload
