Job summary

Vistra Energy seeks an experienced Major Projects Operations Manager to oversee the operations scope of a major nuclear project at Beaver Valley and support fleet projects. You will ensure technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and seamless integration of systems into existing plant infrastructure.

With 15+ years in nuclear engineering and STA qualification, you will lead multi‑disciplinary teams, coordinate contractor interfaces, and guide critical reviews to meet NRC and INPO standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• 15 years of engineering experience in nuclear power, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Shift Technical Advisor (STA) qualified.
• Experience with Ops Impacts, evaluations, training, procedures, site coordination, Beaver Valley site processes.
• Strong knowledge of NRC regulations, INPO guidelines, and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide Operations oversight and technical direction for all design, modification, and testing activities.
• Coordinate interconnecting modifications for system compatibility and readiness between Vistra and Contractors.
• Direct and approve Operations reviews ensuring alignment with nuclear safety and licensing requirements.
• Manage and guide support contract organization to maintain quality, scope, and schedule.
• Lead Independent Operational Reviews to validate design integrity and compliance with nuclear standards.
• Interface with regulatory bodies, internal stakeholders, and external contractors to ensure deliverables meet NRC/INPO requirements.
• Drive resolution of technical issues and timely decisions to support milestones.
• Ensure designs consider long‑term operability, maintainability, and integration with plant operations, including procedures, training, turnover and commissioning.

Key Accountabilities

• Coordinate all interconnecting modifications to ensure system compatibility and operational readiness between Vistra and the Contractors.
• Direct and approve Operations reviews, ensuring alignment with nuclear safety and licensing requirements.
• Manage and guide support contract organization to maintain quality, scope, and schedule compliance.
• Manage and Lead Independent Operational Reviews to validate design integrity, constructability, and compliance with nuclear standards.
• Interface with regulatory bodies, internal stakeholders, and external contractors to ensure all engineering deliverables meet NRC and INPO requirements.
• Drive resolution of technical issues, ensuring timely decision‑making to support project milestones.
• Ensure system designs consider long‑term operability, maintainability, and integration with plant operations to include online and offline impacts, procedures, training, turnover and commissioning.

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• 15 years of engineering experience in nuclear power, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
• Shift Technical Advisor (STA) qualified
• Required experience with Ops Impacts, evaluations, training, procedures, site coordination, and Beaver Valley site processes
• Strong knowledge of NRC regulations, INPO guidelines, and industry standards
• Demonstrated ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams on high‑complexity projects
• Available for travel for project support
