Job summary

The Salvation Army in Macon, GA invites a Major Gift Fundraising professional to expand our development efforts and grow with one of the oldest and most successful programs in the United States.

In this role you will raise funds from individuals, foundations and corporations, design donor plans, maintain records in CRM systems, and travel to engage donors across the Macon region. The ideal candidate resides in the Macon-Warner Robins area and has strong relationship-building skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred with three years’ related fundraising, marketing and/or sales experience (major gift fundraising preferred).
• Ability to research, solicit and secure funds from individuals, corporations and foundations.
• Experience developing relationships to drive prescribed actions.
• Maintain accurate donor records in CRM systems (Salesforce, DonorPerfect or similar).
• Passion for “Doing the Most Good.”

Responsibilities

• Raise funds by developing and nurturing current and prospective donors (individuals, foundations, corporations).
• Respond to inquiries and communicate with donors, advisory organization members, Salvation Army staff and Officers.
• Design, revise and implement a giving plan for each donor to reach annual goals.
• Build a strong donor prospect pipeline.
• Travel often to meet with donors across Macon and surrounding area.

About this opportunity:

This position is responsible for raising funds through major gifts generated from individuals, corporations, and foundations for a designated geographical area of a Salvation Army Division.

Key responsibilities:

• Raise funds to enable the Mission of The Salvation Army by aggressively developing and nurturing current and prospective donors including individuals, foundations and corporations.
• Respond to inquiries and communicate with donors, advisory organization members, Salvation Army staff and Officers.
• Be responsible for designing, revising, and implementing a giving plan for every donor in their portfolio in order to reach an annual production goal.
• Building a strong prospect pipeline.
• Travels often to meet with donors throughout the assigned territory of Macon, Warner Robins, Milledgeville, McDonough, and Griffin.
• Ideal candidate to reside in Macon-Warner Robins area.

You are an ideal match for the role if you have:

• A Bachelor’s degree (preferred, but not required) from an accredited college or university (preferably in a related field of study) AND three years’ experience performing related fundraising, marketing and/or sales work is required (and major gift fund-raising experience is preferred)OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities.
• The ability to research, solicit and secure funds from individual, corporate and foundation relationships.
• Experience developing relationships with the expressed purpose of causing a prescribed action outcome.
• An ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records (Salesforce, DonorPerfect or any CRM).
