Job summary

LSU New Orleans is seeking a Major Gifts Officer to advance student life and campus environment through strategic donor engagement. You will manage a $25,000+ gifts portfolio, cultivate relationships, and secure multi-year commitments.

Working with university leadership and volunteers, you will develop personalized solicitation plans, prepare proposals, and track progress in the CRM. Evening/weekend travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3–5 years in fundraising or donor relations.
• Demonstrated success in major gifts or revenue generation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of approximately 75–120 major gift prospects and donors.
• Develop and execute major gift strategies aligned with university priorities.
• Conduct donor visits (in person, virtual, and by phone) and document activities.
• Prepare proposals, gift agreements, and stewardship reports tailored to donors.
