The Major Gifts Officer is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and soliciting individual major gift prospects and donors in a healthcare environment. Serves as a member of the philanthropy team, developing and managing major gift strategies, and representing the institution among volunteer leadership and public audiences as a frontline fundraiser.

Essential Responsibilities:
  1. Advance the institution's major gifts program by identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gift prospects and donors, with attention to high-end annual fund donors with major gift capacity.
  2. Build and manage a personal portfolio of major gift prospects, working with leadership and volunteers to develop tailored strategies.
  3. Foster cooperation and shared purpose within the organization to support development plans and strategies.
  4. Contribute to strategic planning and the development of division goals.
  5. Prepare persuasive proposals, solicitation letters, and materials to communicate effectively with prospects and donors.
  6. Establish and maintain relationships with key staff and medical professionals, demonstrating understanding of healthcare issues.
  7. Collaborate on prospect management strategies with the Philanthropy Office.
  8. Participate in annual planning, reviewing activities and setting future goals.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3-5 years of related experience required.
  • Ability to travel locally/regionally for face-to-face, phone, and written contact.
  • Demonstrate teamwork, resourcefulness, results orientation, optimism, and trust.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based applications, including complex document production and database management.
