Qualifications

• The candidate should possess strong organizational and communication skills to coordinate complex field activities.
• A working knowledge of molecular biology is required, with adequate proficiency to communicate effectively and support wet-lab procedures.
• Basic computer skills, including ability to use shared database and spreadsheet platforms, are essential.

Responsibilities

• Support the Sawers group maize genetics program.
• Seed inventory management.
• Preparation of material for planting in greenhouse and local and off-site field nurseries.
• Conduct controlled pollinations in the field/greenhouse.
• Harvest and seed sorting.
• Prepare and conduct greenhouse experiments and collect data.
• Coordinate field activities across multiple growing seasons and sites, including national and international locations.
• Track thousands of seed entries each year and collaborate with multiple collaborators and personnel.
