Strategic Government Resources, Inc. is seeking a non-supervisory maintenance worker in Cleburne, TX to perform maintenance operations across city facilities, including operating machinery and supporting grounds upkeep. The role requires independent night and weekend work and adherence to safety standards.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent; maintenance experience is desirable. A valid Class C Texas driver license is required; herbicide/pesticide certification is a plus.

• Ability to complete mechanical or manual edging practices on baseball infield and sidewalk areas.

• Safety practices and principles related to the use of hand and power tools and water line maintenance.
• Thorough knowledge of the safe and proper operation of equipment including safety standards to prevent hazards.
• Thorough knowledge of the safe and proper operation of motor vehicles including provisions of the Texas Motor Vehicle Code.
• Sufficient skills to service and make minor repairs on equipment.
• Sufficient knowledge of technical skills related to the work of maintenance.
• Sufficient knowledge of plant care.
• Knowledge of aquatic facilities operations.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION

To participate in maintaining a healthy, safe environment of all city facilities for the enjoyment of the citizens of Cleburne. This is a non-supervisory position. General Job function is to efficiently and effectively perform maintenance operations; including operating machinery and performing maintenance tasks.

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Ability to work alone at night and/or weekends maintaining and policing all activities at City facilities
• Ability to perform mowing operations with wide area, zero turn rotary, or reel type mowing equipment
• Ability to complete mechanical or manual edging practices on baseball infield and sidewalk areas
• Ability to mechanically or manually distribute infield materials on baseball infields

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school graduation or its equivalent; experience in maintenance work desirable; or

Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED

A license for application of herbicides and pesticides is preferred, but not required

A Valid Class C Texas motor vehicle driver license and the ability to maintain a satisfactory driving record

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND SAFETY HAZARDS

Primarily in an outdoor environment with the ability to operate indoors when needed. May be exposed to extreme heat and cold during summer and winter months.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED

Air tools, chainsaw, tree trimming tools, weed eater, backhoe, agricultural-type tractor with 15’ flex-wing mower, push mower, a gator-type four-wheel vehicle with spray rig/applicator, zero-radius riding mower and various other tools needed to complete daily tasks.
