City of La Mirada is seeking a part‑time maintenance worker to perform manual and semi‑skilled work across streets, parks, and facilities. Work is typically 25–28 hours weekly, usually Monday–Friday from 4:00pm to 10:30pm, with schedule changes as needed.

This position is typically scheduled to work Monday through Friday, between the hours of 4:00pm and 10:30pm.
However, schedule may change to accommodate the needs of the department.

The use and maintenance of basic power and hand tools, equipment, materials and methods used in building and ground maintenance work. Related work hazards and safety procedures.
Learn the use and maintenance of basic power and hand tools, equipment, and materials used in building or ground maintenance work.Perform manual labor in a variety of weather conditions. Perform work requiring physical strength, dexterity and endurance. Meet the physical requirements stated in the City's Job Function Analysis for the position, including ability to lift up to 75 lbs. Operate a motor vehicle safely.Read, write, and carry out oral and written instructions in English. Exercise good judgment, courtesy, and tact with staff and the public. Utilize quality customer service skills and techniques. Work varied shifts, including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
Experience in landscape maintenance, building maintenance, warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, small hand tools operation or related field is desired.
High School graduate or the equivalent is required.
Possession of a valid California Class C Driver License is required.
Possession of a valid certified CPR, AED and First Aid certificate is required within the first three months of employment.
Appointments are normally made at the first step of the salary range. Consideration and approval for a salary higher than the first step is done on a case-by-case basis.

Candidates who do not pass any portion of the above processes will be disqualified and removed from proceeding in the selection process.
