Job summary

The Castle Hill YMCA is seeking a part-time Maintenance Worker/Porter II to maintain a clean, safe facility and support daily operations at the Castle Hill location in the Bronx.

You will perform cleaning, window washing, pool care, snow removal, groundskeeping, and related duties while operating cleaning equipment and reporting repairs as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year of related experience.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
• Understanding of light electrical, plumbing, painting, and carpentry.
• Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals.
• Obtain the YMCA Housekeeping Certificate within one year of attaining the position.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the branch is attractive and clean by following the daily schedule and maintaining the assigned area and equipment.
• Operate related motorized and non-motorized equipment.
• Record and report repairs; perform repairs as directed.
• Keep the branch building and property secure during shift and report hazards.
• Replenish soap, paper towels, and other supplies.
• May set up furniture and rooms for events.
• Strip and wax floors and shampoo rugs as needed.
• Follow YMCA housekeeping policies and procedures.

They will also be required to complete duties related to window washing, meeting set-up, pool cleaning, snow removal, groundskeeping, and other related responsibilities. **Key Responsibilities:*** Ensure the branch is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintaining the upkeep of the assigned area and equipment.
