Job summary

Steele Solutions in South Milwaukee, WI seeks a Maintenance Worker L1 (2nd shift). Under supervision, you perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and support equipment and facilities maintenance.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, familiarity with metal manufacturing, and ability to read work orders. Reliable travel between Wisconsin locations and a valid driver's license are needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required/preferred.
  • Experience in a steel/metal manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems is required.
  • Building maintenance (plumbing, carpentry, painting, groundskeeping) experience is preferred.
  • Experience providing routine preventative maintenance is preferred.
  • Experience providing manufacturing equipment troubleshooting and repair is preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to travel between Wisconsin locations.

Responsibilities

  • Completes required preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and other equipment.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs manufacturing equipment (drilling machines, paint line, presses, forklifts, etc.).
  • Performs routine electrical and mechanical maintenance on equipment.
  • Performs general maintenance and repairs of facility and grounds (carpentry, painting, HVAC, plumbing, groundskeeping).
  • Inspects all building locations and schedules repairs.
  • Fabricates repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Maintains inventories by checking stock levels.
  • Uses measuring tools to perform tasks.
  • Supports operations as needed.

Maintenance Worker L1 - 2nd shift

Summary

Under direction of the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager, the Maintenance Worker L1, L2, L3 is responsible for the upkeep of the equipment and facility, checking work orders daily to perform all maintenance duties and repairs, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Completes required preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and other equipment
  • Troubleshoots and repairs all manufacturing equipment (Drilling machines, paint line, presses, forklifts etc.)
  • Performs routine electrical and mechanical maintenance on equipment
  • Performs general maintenance and repairs of facility and grounds (including basic carpentry, painting, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, groundskeeping etc.)
  • Inspects all building locations, and schedules repairs
  • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment
  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level
  • Uses tape measure, caliper, micrometer and other measuring tools to perform tasks accordingly
  • Supports operations as needed
